The begining of a little country kitchen......

I spent 8 years studying to be an architect, for which in return I have a very rewarding job!

Since finishing my studies I decided to find something new to learn outside the office..hence my journey into cake decoration and a new way to employ my creative skills!

So after some cake decorating lessons I am embarking upon making cakes for family, friends and anyone who is interested on my way!. I love a challenge and I really enjoy making them and it something completely different from my day job!

So this blog is an photographic portfolio of my journey, to give you an idea of what I have done/ maybe can do :-)

To Infinity.....and Beyond!

So it was my friend Nita's little boys 4th birthday.....he wanted a toy story cake- how could I resist!!!
Vanilla cake with jam & buttercream. My first exploration into tiering....and it didn't fall!
I made the bottom part to look like an old wooden barrel, with sugar for sand.
The added buzz bursting out of the top, with woody sitting on the side- with lots of glitter dust and shimmer for some magic!

I also make some fondant topped cupcakes to go with the party bags as welll- vanilla with jam in the middle! yum!!!

Wedding Fever

This was my first ever wedding cake that I did. It was for some friends for a wedding in York.
It had a white chocolate 6 inch topper cake, with white ganache filling. This was decorated with Ivory roses and Lustre. There was then also 70 cupcakes which were lemon curd, chocolate and red velevet and also vegan, gluten free and diabetic. This was a huge mission in one day but they looked amazing and the happy couple loved them thankfully :-)

The base cake is vanilla, with the scene and all the figures made out of fondant so all completely child friendly...The characters were much tricker than I thought....Macca Pacca is my favourite!

Add lots of glitter and Voila.....its like we were almost there! This is one of my favs so far! It was lots fo fun!

Fire Engine to the Rescue

I got asked to make this Fire Engine Cake for my Friend Jennies little boy Olliver.

It was all chocolate cake and buttercream, on a cake base. All the figures are also fondant so all completely edible and the front fireman....even has wonderful red hair and freckles like Oliver himself!!

It was all worth it the minute I saw his face light up!!
