The begining of a little country kitchen......

I spent 8 years studying to be an architect, for which in return I have a very rewarding job!

Since finishing my studies I decided to find something new to learn outside the office..hence my journey into cake decoration and a new way to employ my creative skills!

So after some cake decorating lessons I am embarking upon making cakes for family, friends and anyone who is interested on my way!. I love a challenge and I really enjoy making them and it something completely different from my day job!

So this blog is an photographic portfolio of my journey, to give you an idea of what I have done/ maybe can do :-)

May your christmas be full of cake....

So I had a number of xmas cakes requested for xmas...and a number for presents ( you will have to wait and see if it is you!!)

So I attended Heather's Mini Xmas Gift Cake Class...The results are below...and have inspired much debate for all the other I need to finish!

Here Kitty Kitty...

As a last minute and request i was asked to do an eggless Birthday Cake for a friend at work. I did this....Iit looked like a loaf of bread when it came out of the oven!!

I did find this more difficult than I had expected!!, Hello Kitty is not as simple as it looks....I also think my piping skills may need a bit of work!

Old Macdonald had a farm.....on a cake :-)

I got asked to do a farm cake for my bosses son's birthday. This was the most fun I've had....I got to practice all the animals I'd made at my classes, and a few more besides.

It was a vanilla sponge and decorated in fondant icing...all completely edible. The tractor was made of ceral treats and iced....I even made a vegetable patch with sugar & buttercream!

These little piggies went to market :-)

At my last class we have moved from wedding mice to wedding pigs...I haven't finished the plaque to sit them on yet, but they do look delightfully cute! I the groom a funky Willy Wonka style hat for a bit of colour!
